The Steelpan
Since I was five years old I have played the steelpan with my family in a band called the Young Legends of Pan. I was taught by my oldest brother Benjamin. We perform at numerous weddings, schools, events and many gigs. There are many different types of pans: the double seconds or alto pan which consists of two drums with 15 notes in each; the double guitar consists of two drums cut to half their length with 8 notes in each; and there is the tenor or soprano pan which has the highest pitch along with 29 notes.
