Cultural appropriation versus cultural appreciation. Yes, there is a difference.

We live within one-another’s cultures whether we’re even conscious of it or not. I’ve been to Indian weddings where I was asked to wear appropriate attire, which I happily did and enjoyed feeling part of a culture that wasn’t mine. Indian weddings are a total blast!

Cultural appropriation a topic that’s been popping up in conversation often of late. Usually after events such as (the most controversial) MET Gala. I do think Americans tend to complain about everything a tad too much and too quickly, especially for a nation who elected an orange monster as president. Sorry Americans, you can shoot me later…
