ADIRONDACKS SUSTAIN WAVES OF ECLIPSE VISITORS

They came in waves to see the sky turn to darkness in the afternoon.
But the tens of thousands of visitors who mixed with the locals, rejoicing, singing and exclaiming during the celestial marvel on April 8, didn’t swamp the Adirondacks.
And, on top of the sun being eclipsed by the moon, they liked what they saw of the small towns and villages surrounded by the gifts of nature that make up the Adirondack Park.
“We were very impressed with what was available for our kids in the town,” said Maricor Santiago, one of a group of parents who brought their first-graders from Manhattan’s Speyer Legacy School for a long weekend
