Punk’s not dead

It started like every night,’ says Neil Hill. ‘I was sat looking through eBay and Facebook at the cars for sale.’ That’s how it started: you can already guess how it ended.

‘I spotted this Ford rat rod, and as you do I saved it to my watch list to see what the bids would go up to. I waited and waited, right to the last minute, but no one bid.

‘That sends your mind into overdrive. ‘Why hasn’t anyone bid?’ I was thinking. ‘It looks really cool to me…’

He could have seen this as a sign to walk away… or as a sign that he was better than everyone else at seeing the potential in a vehicle. Which is kind of a given, actually – the man builds rods,
