1969 NOVA TRANSMISSION ADAPTABILITY
Q: My 1969 Nova with the 283-cu.in. V-8 engine needs a transmission, and a friend has a Saginaw four-speed I can “borrow” until I can afford the Tremec five-speed I want to eventually install. Is there an aftermarket bellhousing I can purchase now that will fit the Saginaw but can be used later once I have acquired the Tremec T-5? I know there may be a problem with mechanical versus hydraulic throwout bearings and linkage. I am hoping one housing would work for both applications. Thanks.
