KYLE OF TONGUE

The Kinloch River flows north across the Highlands, becoming tidal beyond gravel rapids at the head of the kyle. Dominating the view south is Ben Loyal, the Queen of Scottish Mountains. The highest of its five peaks, An Caisteal, rises to 764m from low moorlands, such as the 98m high Cnoc na h-Iolaire where, indeed, the golden eagle might be seen, attention perhaps drawn by a mobbing crow.
