BUDGERIGARS
HAVE you ever thought of becoming a speaker at club meetings? Bird societies have always struggled to fill club meeting nights with relevant bird-associated events. There are only so many quizzes, DVDs, etc, that members can tolerate. A knowledgeable speaker can always be interesting and will command the attention of their audience.
When attending secondary school, I always seemed to be the one asked to speak in front of the class because I had hobbies which included the breeding of budgerigars. This progressed to representingimpression you need to do more than just stand up in front of an audience with a flip chart. At a young age the experience was frightening, but it stood me in good stead for later in life.
