In this series I will be taking a different landscape subject each month, based on a photograph taken on my explorations into the countryside. I’ll be demonstrating how to paint different lighting conditions in watercolour, looking at how tone, marks and colourcapture the light qualities of the English landscape. The first three paintings highlight choices of colour, colour temperature and saturation in particular, while the final two explore subtle markmaking and lifting-off techniques to create ephemeral sunbeams and mists in more detail.
