Hornby LNER Class P2 2-8-2 Prince of Wales No. 2007 with steam generator

This is a remarkable model; remarkable, innovative and simply outstanding. It's probably the first time that a model loco has appeared before its prototype was in service since Hornby Dublo first produced its Co-Co diesel (a ‘sort of ’ all-green ‘Deltic'), but that's the only similarity.

The first of Gresley's P2 Class appeared in 1934 in the form of No. 2001 , instantly becoming the largest and most-powerful express passenger steamup at York and New England, unloved and under-utilised, suffering early withdrawal.
