he Women’s Hospital, as it was originally known, was founded by Scottish-born physician Sir James Graham in 1893. Located in a four-roomed house on Hay Street in the Sydney suburb of Surry Hills, the hospital was initially funded by public subscription, as well as nurse training and student fees.
