‘Greedy’ gardener killed gran who trusted him

Those were the chilling words with which Durban High Court Judge Makhosi Hadebe handed down a life sentence to Siviwe Magugu, 37, for the murder of Phoenix granny Rajani Devi Reuben-Murray in September 2022.

On Friday, Judge Hadebe said Magugu’s actions were “solely propelled by greed”.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and 15 years’ imprisonment for robbery.
