The Power of Colour, until Sept 29

Bendigo Art Gallery hosts this free exhibition presenting contemporary pieces by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. While ochre, clay and charcoal have been used for centuries for painting on bodies, weapons and cave walls, today,features the work of Kaylene Whiskey, Emily Kngwarreye Kame, Betty Muffler, Maringka Burton, Julie Yatjitja and many more. These stunning depictions of Country are conveyed in vibrant colours and patterns, and communicate the artists’ stories, beliefs and cultural knowledge.
