I’M FEELING CONFIDENT

THINK of a beauty pageant and images of willowy young women in swim suits and ballgowns gliding across the stage will probably come to mind.

But times have moved on. Diversity is celebrated and being disabled shouldn’t put you at a disadvantage – and Laura Wagner-Meyer ticks every box when it comes to taking the curveballs life has thrown her way and refusing to let them get her down.

In a viral TikTok video she says her story is a lot like South Africa’s. “We’ve gone through a lot, but we’ve come out smiling and we think the future is really positive.”
