"Zero-energy" at Singapore Changi

SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT has announced plans for a new hotel attached to its Terminal 2 under IHG’s Hotel Indigo brand.

The 255-room hotel will be connected to the terminal building by a walkway and is being described as “the first zero-energy hotel in Singapore, and potentially the first zero-energy airport hotel in the world”.

Sustainable design elements at the 163-metre-long hotel will include solar panels, hybrid cooling systems, naturally ventilated corridors and rainwater-harvesting technology, as well as a ‘Floating Forest’ – layers of rainforest and hanging plants stretching
