GINA WEARE'S 18-year-old hunter, Chip, is an adrenaline junkie who rarely misses a beat blazing after the Mid-Surrey Farmers' Draghounds, taking enormous hedges in his stride. So when the Irish Sport Horse gelding suddenly stalled while cantering home one day last autumn, his rider knew something was amiss.
“It was like somebody had cut the petrol pipe,” recalls Gina. “He went from 60 to zero in a matter of seconds.”
