With days to go before they say “I do”, the Duke of Westminster and Olivia Henson have been in the final throes of planning for what will be the most talked-about high-society wedding of the year.
The couple will tie the knot at Chester Cathedral on Friday 7 June and excitement is high as groom-to-be Hugh Grosvenor, who inherited his title and family fortune after the death of his father the 6th Duke in 2016, has asked the Prince of Wales to be one of his ushers.
A close friend of 33-year-old Hugh’s for many years, Prince William is the only senior royal expected to attend and will be there without his wife the Princess, as she continues her preventative chemotherapy treatment.
And while Prince George is one of Hugh’s godchildren and was rumoured to be a pageboy, that’s looking increasingly unlikely as the wedding falls on a school day.
