AFTER more than three months out of traffic for an extensive mechanical overhaul and repaint, the Lakeshore Railroad in South Shields welcomed No. 3440 Mountaineer back into service on April 20.
Testing had taken place earlier that week on the 9.5 inch-gauge line, which
