LiFePO Comes At You Fast

Bluetti AC200P 2000W

What's the story?

Bluetti’s elongated cube doesn’t just have enough power output to keep a hot plate running for more than a few minutes, it’s also got enough ports to perform the same trick for far longer with something sensible plugged in. Ostensibly designed for camping, given its outdoor rating, we all know what South African users will utilise it for.

At that, it should excel. All of the local concessions are here. Dual 220V plug sockets are ready to accept your inputs, provided you’re using the round (or standard) Type M two-pin. There are also options for 12V, DC, and the various flavours of USB. The Bluetti AC200P doesn’t miss any tricks in this line. Also included? A touchscreen display, which is a rarity.

Is it any good?

If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t spend time talking about it. Any battery in a power outage doesn’t really apply here, since Bluetti is so adept at covering bases. The included 2 000Wh lithium ferrophosphate battery is rated for 3 500 charge cycles, after which time it should retain 80% of its original rated capacity. It’s a claim that’s a little hard to test since it calls for a full discharge and recharge. Perform that once a day and you’ll take nearly ten years to hit that milestone.
