Viltrox AF 40mm f/2.5 Z
£130/$158
Viltrox has been steadily making quality lenses V for super-affordable prices for a while now. This new Viltrox AF 40mm f/2.5 Z is smaller, lighter and cheaper than Viltrox’s Pro line, such as the Viltrox AF 27mm f/1.2 Pro Z for DX-sensor Nikons, which won our coveted Best on Test award in last issue’s standard primes Big Test.
Some compromises have been made to get to this more affordable price, though, the most obvious being the maximum aperture, which is a little pedestrian for a short prime at f/2.5. But unlike some cheap primes, this is a fully autofocus lens.
