Q I like shooting landscapes with brooding skies but they seem to wash out a bit and lose their drama. Is there an easy editing fix or other solution?

At the shooting stage, a good option is to use a circular polarizing filter but they don’t work well with very wide-angle lenses. Shoot in 14-bit Raw quality mode, to maximize your tonal range and give you plenty to play with at the editing stage. I used to darken skies the long way round, creating light and dark JPEGs from the Raw file.
