    Prince William thanked veterans for fighting for freedom as he joined world leaders at a moving ceremony to honour the heroes of D-Day.The Prince of Wales stepped in to represent Britain on the world stage in his father's place as he joined heads of state and D-Day veterans in Normandy to mark the final international event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the beach invasion.
