Is it possible to install underfloor heating myself ?

Any DIYer – providing they have a good level of practical skill – can install underfloor heating themselves. However, for anyone thinking of taking on this task, there are a few factors to bear in mind. Most importantly, you should make sure you’re working with a supplier who can give you a good level of support as installing underfloor heating can be a lot to take on and can, at times, be quite a technical process.

You should ensure that your supplier can provide detailed instructions as well as a thorough layout plan to make your installation go as smoothly as possible. You might also want to check whether they are able to offer a technical support line, so that you know you have someone on-hand to call, if you have any questions, or just in case anything does go wrong.

In terms of the install itself, most DIYers can lay the fixing system and underfloor heating tube. This is relatively simple and can help to reduce the cost of installing the system. For the plumbing and electrical work that’s involved in setting up the system, it’s always best to get a qualified installer involved to ensure everything is commissioned and working just as it should be.
