When we ask event organiser Remmi Aloni to explain the concept of Sheilas Shakedown to us, she pauses for a moment, before coolly stating: “Sheilas Shakedown is ultimately a motorcycle festival. Plain and simple.

“It’s a rally that looks back to the old-school ’60s, ’70s and ’80s motorcycle rallies that happened in Australia – the golden years of motorcycle culture – only we’re grabbing it, tipping it upside down and putting women, gender-diverse and non-binary people to the front.”

The regional Victorian festival launched in 2017 and attracts hundreds of riders (and curious non-riders) every year. It’s got everything you’d expect from a three-day event – live music, camping, activities – but with a shitload of motorbikes.
