For most of my life, I was a conflict-avoidant person. That’s a sanitised way of saying it. I’ve always bloody hated conflict. I grew up with a fair amount of it and a therapist might suggest that it moulded me into a conflict turtle, retreating at the first hint of drama.
Until recently, the only person I was comfortable arguing with was my partner. (We argue in whispers so the
