The late 19th- to early 20th-century Western European wheelbarrow brings joy to the gardening enthusiast and antique lover alike. Popular styles can be made exclusively from wood or incorporate metal around the rims of the wheels, and they are typically well-worn with a pleasing patina. ‘The majority of barrows we sell find their place in gardens, courtyards and patios, adorned with pretty flowers and potted plants,’ says Danny Goodacre, co-owner of Mews Emporium (@mews_emporium). ‘They act as a relevant but decorative foundation to create a beautiful floral scene.’ When buying one, he adds,
