Cage & Aviary Birds

Waxbill heaven in the heart of Kruger

TRAVEL

OUR next camp inside Kruger was park headquarters at Skukuza for two nights. This is the largest of the camps and boasts some of the best viewing of mammals. We had booked an evening drive with a ranger but on a whim changed it to an afternoon drive, from 4.30-7.30pm, finishing after dark. This was a most happy decision as we saw all the “Big 5” of lion, rhino, buffalo, leopard and elephant, as well as hippo and a family of painted dogs feeding some very young pups, all within two hours.
