How does someone in such a physically demanding position, as a wing-back, set so many appearance records for club and country by playing more than 700 games?

I was so strict with myself when it came to my health and fitness routine, and I still am. I worked with a private coach from Belgrade for 12 years regarding nutrition, training and recovery after games. Looking back, I had no serious injuries other than a muscle rupture here and there. My preparation helped me to play a lot of games – more than 500 for Shakhtar Donetsk and 134 for Croatia. That fitness gives you confidence and helps
