Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

It was only a matter of time before this GameCube-only RPG made its way to the Switch. Long considered a cult classic – enough to demand wild prices on the retro market – The Thousand-Year Door swaps Mario’s usual platform adventures for turn-based combat and an engaging story.

Naturally Princess Peach gets kidnappedhere, but that just means the rest of the cast can poke fun at the trope. Just about every Mushroom Kingdom character has their own unique personality, while the ones that join your party roster also bring special abilities for battle and exploration.
