Beyond the balcony

For the first time ever, the doors of Buckingham Palace’s East Wing, which includes the world-famous balcony from which many a pivotal royal moment has been marked, will be open to visitors for tours this summer. Thanks to several years of essential preservation work, public access to this historically important suite of rooms is now possible. First occupied by Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their children, the rooms are still used by the Royal Family today for official meetings and events.
