The Cost of an Ounce

The price of cannabis flower can vary drastically from state to state. Insider Monkey, a financing website, recently published a report which ranks the top 20 states in the U.S. with the cheapest weed. “All the diverse effects of legalizing recreational marijuana may not be clear for a number of years, but one consequence has become evident almost immediately, weed has never been so cheap in America,” reported. “The retail price of a gram of cannabis dropped 13% to $9.43 in Q3 of 2022 from $10.83 in the same period the previous year, the steepest fall ever seen for marijuana in a one-year period.” The report explained that a decrease in supply and demand, increasing competition, and the growing number of states legalizing cannabis has led to new innovations in cultivation.
