In My Hoop…

Jill Jones had been living with her partner, who was based in South Africa, for 20 years, commuting between South Africa and England. When he died last year, she wanted to stitch a suitable commemorative picture. When she saw a past issue of CrossStitcher with our African elephant, she knew it was perfect…

“His daughter made African-themed biscuits as part of the buffet at his memorial design has all the symbolism of hours spent in the bush surrounded by elephants, as well as other creatures both big and small, without being a morbid reminder of our loss. I’m sure he would have approved,” says Jill.
