Hats off, Rossinavi and Royal Huisman. The former built our Motor Yacht of the Year, 65.7m , and the latter was responsible for 59.7m Sarissa, the Sailing Yacht of the, and Royal Huisman is moments away from delivering the world's largest sportfisher, 52m . As a fan, these sorts of projects get my blood pumping. Perhaps it's because I understand the years of labour required before any metal ever touches the water, a fact that's sometimes missed in the flash bulbs as the yacht sets put with its owner on board. From a distance, a yacht is the plaything of a rich person, but up close it's a crescendo of talents, of countless hours spent in the agony of creation. Not enough people understand this, or even know about it, which is why, at the World Superyacht Awards, we announced the YOTS (Yachting Opportunities, Training & Skills) Foundation. Along with some amazing partners from across the superyachting world, we aim to expose this industry to more people and draw in fertile young minds from all, backgrounds, which will guarantee we keep pushing boundaries and creating boats like and . There's lots of talk about the next generation of yachting. This is an opportunity to capture it and ensure we're building boats that will get the blood pumping for a new breed of owner.
