Transat test for Vendée hopefuls

One of the final qualifying races for the IMOCA fleet ahead of this November’s Vendée Globe, the Transat CIC, delivered challenging North Atlantic conditions for its 48 solo skippers.

The oldest of all the single-handed races, The Transat was created in 1960 and previously started from the UK, but now sees two fleets of IMOCAs and Class 40s race from Lorient, France, to finish in New York.

In the IMOCAbalance between safely completing the race and using one of the last opportunities to really test their IMOCAs under race conditions.
