New docu series on women in sailing

usto and World Sailing TV have made a new, four-part documentary series on the rise of women in. It is titled and is narrated by Tracy Edwards MBE (pictured). Tracy is famous, of course, for her all-female campaign aboard in the 1989/90 Whitbread round-the-world yacht race. Topics include equality in sailing, motherhood and how to navigate this male-dominated sport, and features conversations with the likes of Clarisse Crémer, Pamala Lee, Sam Davies, Francesca Clapcich and Rosalin Kuiper. The first episode reflects on the precedent for women in the sport of yacht racing set by Tracy Edwards and 'the Maidens' all those years ago and asks: where are we now? Episode two focuses on diversity or clones. Episode three discusses female sailors and motherhood, and the fourth and final instalment delves into change and opportunity. Just go to and enter “evening the keel” in the search box. See our feature in this month’s issue on Marie Tabarly’s recent triumph in the Ocean Globe Race aboard .
