G700 type certification sets up a battle for ultra-long-range market share

The announcement came after delays from the regulator, with many speculating that the FAA was exercising greater scrutiny, possibly influenced by the aftermath of the 737-800MAX crisis. In a nod to this sentiment, Gulfstream president, Mark Burns commented, “We have successfully completed the most rigorous certification program in company history with the G700”.

He went on to celebrate the company’s team of flightcertification and engineering professionals for their contribution, adding that, “The G700 brings a new level of performance and cabin comfort to business aviation and is doing so while meeting the highest certification standards our industry has ever seen.”
