HIGH SUMMER means long drinks in shady gardens or perhaps even moderately close to a game of cricket. The perennial lubricant of the British summer has always been Pimm’s and lemonade, liberally garnished with a few handfuls of strawberries, mint and cucumber. It is the sticky sauce of the season but is it still cutting the mustard after all these years? I have to say that I prefer my Pimm’s with ginger ale and a shot or two of gin to turn up the volume
