OLEKSANDR USYK is never short of an excellent quote but his description of British pair Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, who he has now won world heavyweight titles from, has to go straight into his top five.

“Anthony Joshua is classic boxing,” Usyk told the Three Knockdown Rule podcast. “But Greedy Belly, my friend Tyson Fury… Listen, it’s like still water and sparkling. Still water is Anthony Joshua, sparkling water is Tyson Fury.”

He was also asked whether 6ft 9ins Fury, who seemed to hurt Usyk regularly during the first half of their undisputed clash, hit him harder than anyone else. But he said: “Biggest punch? No. Because Derek Chisora is a very tough guy. One punch hit my gloves and I said ‘Oh my God’.
