The University of Pretoria’s (UP) Faculty of Education has introduced a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Management, oriented towards professional rather than academic engagement at National Qualifications Framework level 10.
It is the first professional degree in this field offered at a South African university, and proposes an alternative route to a doctorate from an appropriate research-based or master’s degree.
