New kid on the block

MITSUBISHI TRITON GLS

MITSUBISHI says its latest Triton is all new and who are we to argue. Yes, the four-cylinder diesel engine is the same 2.4-litre unit, but it is now fed by a pair of turbochargers and not just one like the previous model, and Mitsubishi says that most of the engine’s internals are new as well.

With that in mind, it’s great to see the engine output increased to 150kW and 470Nm (up from 133kW and 430Nm in the previous Triton) which is closer to the class leaders even if not quite up to their 500Nm torque peaks.
