Telly troubles

On a recent and outstanding tour of the Portuguese mountains with Dream Overland, we were led to a summit called Alto de Trevim in the Serra da Lousã by the incomparable guide, Jose Almeida. After enjoying the wonderful vista we returned to our 1996 Defender to continue the journey.

Like many Defender owners we have a Thatcham immobiliser fitted to the vehicle (in this instance a Cobra unit) andwere sharing the top of the mountain with a number of large TV masts. It seems the transmissions from the masts were interfering with the transponder function.
