Not so much curveballs for me this month, as a learning curve. I’ve had my nose in the newspapers for quite long enough, and it’s high time I got stuck into the French records. Bear with me, though, as these are unchartered waters…
First, the good news: there are records out there online. I was worried France might be a bit like Italy, where you need to know exactly where your ancestors were buried or baptised. All I have to go on with Joseph, my Italian 3x great-grand-father, is a magnificently vague ‘Milan’, which makes researching my Riboldi roots nigh on impossible.
