President Vladimir Putin has landed in North Korea for a key summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un a key supplier for his invasion of Ukraine.
Mr Putin said the two countries want to cooperate closely to overcome US-led sanctions in the face of intensifying confrontations with Washington.
Pictures released by the Kremlin show Putin smiling and embracing Kim Jong Un who rolled out the red carpet at Pyongyang’s landing strip.
