HAUNT A HUTCH
Emphasize the spooky season in a stepback cupboard by focusing on silver, black, orange and green hues. Set galvanized-metal chargers on edge and fan black dishware against them as a spotlight for die-cut decorations. Include a green sewing box bearing an aged finish to lend a slightly gothic look. A crow figure, sign and gauzy cloth spilling from the top of the cabinet will accentuate the theme.

Halloween
In the whirlwind of autumn activities, from attending harvest parties to traveling to see colorful foliage, we want to press pause and stylist Carolynn Geesaman encourages home decorators to make easy swaps as fall advances. “It just takes a simple switch to move a design choice from the Halloween side to being on the fall side,” she notes. “I don't go all out everywhere, but I will switch out certain things—even purchasing same-size wall art so I can use the same nail.” Be inspired by her thrifty repurposing as you transition your decor, little by little, as the season progresses.
