Anyone looking for a 14in laptop is spoilt for choice at the moment. If you want to stay below £1,000, there’s our current favourite laptop, the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus (£849 from Dell at – see page 30). If you have a bit more to spend on an improved specification, then the new Huawei MateBook 14 takes a few things up a notch, but adds another £350
