What should I download?

How can I encrypt files and folders?

Q Can you recommend a free and simple tool for encrypting files and folders? I’m not talking about national security levels, but AES 256-bit standards for personal use.

Give VeraCrypt a go – it’s free from. Launch the program, then click Create Volume. Click Next twice, then click ‘Select File…’ and navigate to the folder where you want to create an encrypted ‘container’ for your files. Type a suitable file name for this in the ‘File name’ box, then click Save.
