NICHOLA SPAIN AND her partner, Jordan Potts, weren’t looking to buy a property when they came across this weathered homestead in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland. In fact, they were so decidedly not interested in buying a house that they were considering purchasing the empty block of land next door.
“I’m from Victoria and had been living on the Sunshine Coast for a few years, but was missing being a little bit cold,” Nichola, 33, explains. “We were thinking of building a tiny home in the hinterland, and so we were looking at this vacant lot, but it wasn’t right – there was too much slope.”
Looking around, she spotted the neighbouring property, which neither she nor Jordan, 35, had seen on their drive in.
