Are we there yet? In the 1920s and 1930s election campaigns were often just three weeks long; if we could resuscitate that tradition next time round I would be most grateful. The last 14 years have often felt like a shambolic production of , so it is perhaps no surprise that the government’s campaign has continued in this vein.
