DURING a breeding season it never fails to amaze me how different breeders obtain different results – and how things can suddenly change so dramatically.
This season is no different. I hear of certain breeders doing exceptionally well, whereas others are struggling with numbers. You never really know what lies ahead and, as I have previously stated, last year's almost perfect year for myself was always unlikely to be repeated in its entirety.
In a previous article, I related how my Fifes had made a very good start, with more than 80 youngsters in the first round, from 23 hens.
