THE first thing you see when you walk into the house in Pretoria is a large tree painted on a wall, its branches decorated with framed photos of children – 251 in total.
Each of these children has occupied a special place in the hearts of the couple who have made it their life’s work to care for kids in need.
“This is our family tree,” Mientjie Prozesky (49) says. “We grow to love each child as if they were our own.”
As we walk in two little ones run up to give us a hug while in another room – or the “baby pit” as it’s been dubbed – volunteer helpers are cuddling
