The following steps only take a few minutes, but together they form a road map for everything that follows.
1 Start by exploring your ideas with quick 4×6in. (10×15cm) thumbnail sketches on cheap copier paper, using simple basic shapes rather than details.
2 Use your chosen layout and one or two grey marker pens to create a tonal plan that makes your thumbnail
